The Illinois Department of Transportation has initiated a project study of Illinois Route 104 over the Illinois River Bridge. The scope for this project is to improve the IL-104 bridge crossing over the Illinois River in Meredosia. To improve the safety of the bridge crossing, it is anticipated that the bridge deck would need to be widened to accommodate at least two (2) 12' wide lanes with adequate shoulders on the outside. The study would evaluate alternative solutions to reconstruct or replace the existing bridge in its current location or other new locations. Since any possible improvement will affect the community, public input is vital.
