Harper College will no longer offer Motorcycle Safety classes at all northern region training sites as of June 30. We at IDOT are actively engaged in securing a new training center for Northern Illinois. Once a new regional center is designated, classes will resume in Northern Illinois. If you are looking for training classes, please visit the websites for our central and southern training areas as they may have available training courses.
We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Motorcyclists are some of the most vulnerable road users. Motorcyclist deaths occurred 28 times more frequently than fatalities in other vehicles, based on 2016 fatal crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Illinois Department of Transportation is dedicated to ensuring the safety of all motorcyclists through training, education and outreach. The Cycle Rider Safety Training Program offers free rider courses and are the only way to earn a license waiver for motorcycle licensure.
Saved by the Helmet recognizes survivors of potentially fatal crashes who were wearing a helmet.
Last year, 1,047 people died on Illinois roads. Please, drive responsibly. It really is a matter of life or death.
