IDOT CADD Downloads and Guidelines

The IDOT CADD environment is downloaded as a self-extracting file and can only be used with MicroStation software. See Support section for download.

The following are the guidelines and rules for CADD project data:

  • Computer Aided Design, Drafting, Modeling & Deliverables Manual
  • Example Plans
  • Bridge Model Sample: Partially complete bridge project utilizing design models
  • Bridge Individual File Sample: Partially complete bridge project utilizing individual design files
  • OBM Generative Components: Recently the IDOT CONNECTED CADD Environment was released which included configuration files/tools for use with OpenBridge Modeler (OBM). One of those tools is called a Generative Component (GC). We have GC’s that were developed for three of our abutment types which were unable to be modeled using the built-in tools of OBM. The documents explain their use and show the variable names as well as where they apply. These files are meant for those who would like to try out the GC's. Their use is not required at this time.
