Price Indices

This special provision was developed by IDOT and industry as a result of the volatility in the cost of bituminous, steel and fuel. A cost adjustment special provision(s) will be included in certain contracts to provide additional compensation to the contractor, or credit to the department, for fluctuations in the cost of bituminous, steel or fuel when optioned by the contractor.
