Morrison Tech Honors IDOT for Employer Partnership

IDOT was honored by Morrison Institute of Technology for its role in transitioning its graduates to the workforce. IDOT was one of three companies that were recognized with the Notable Employer Partnership Award during the college’s 50th Anniversary July 15.

“Throughout our 50 years as a college, we have been privileged to partner with many incredible employers locally and throughout the nation,” according to the college. “These employers have supported our institution in a number of ways and contributed to the success of both our current students and graduates; we are fortunate to have built these relationships.” 

IDOT was recognized for being a proven leader in the industry and for the opportunities it offers Morrison Tech’s graduates in launching their careers and gaining invaluable experience. District 2 Materials Engineer Amy Harms accepted the award on IDOT’s behalf during the event,

“IDOT has had the pleasure of working with many Morrison Tech graduates over the years,” Harms said at the ceremony. She adds that some of the roles graduates have served in at IDOT include construction inspection, material testing and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD)  work. 

“We are grateful for the education they have received,” Harms said. “The real-world applications their education provided are very apparent to me and my colleagues.”
