Report Fraud

Anyone who is aware of fraud or suspects fraud on transportation-related projects funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, including fraud related to the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, should contact IDOT’s Bureau of Investigations and Compliance. Allegations may be reported by anyone, including IDOT employees, contractors or the general public. The Bureau of Investigations and Compliance’s Hotline is available 24 hours a day.

Although reports can be submitted anonymously, the Bureau prefers reporters of fraud include their name and contact information as this facilitates a faster resolution in the event additional information is required. All efforts are made by the Bureau to keep the information confidential. Please help us stop fraud, waste and abuse by reporting it using one of the following methods.

The U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General also maintains a hotline for reporting allegations of fraud, waste, abuse or mismanagement in USDOT programs or operations. You may report such allegations through the contact information listed below. Allegations may be reported by employees, contractors or the general public. The OIG hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is operated by a third-party contractor.
