Project Summary

The US 30 Morrison Project is a planned roadway improvement on US Route 30 through Morrison, Illinois, from Jackson Street to French Creek. The project will address poor pavement conditions, recurring flooding concerns, and traffic congestion near the downtown area. Improvements are expected to include roadway reconstruction, drainage and culvert updates, and turn-lane improvements to support safer and more reliable travel for drivers, pedestrians, nearby residents, and local businesses. The total project length is approximately 2 miles, and the current construction cost is estimated at $20,000,000.

Project Goals

  • Improve the condition of US 30 pavement by replacing worn roadway surfaces and making the corridor smoother, more reliable, and easier to maintain for everyday travel.
  • Reduce construction-related delays and access impacts as much as practical by planning the work to maintain local access, support downtown travel needs, and keep traffic moving during construction.
  • Limit impacts to nearby historic properties and businesses during construction by identifying potential concerns early and coordinating work activities to reduce disruptions where feasible.
