Overview and Project Limits
IDOT is in the early phase of preliminary engineering services for an important project on I-55/64 from the Mississippi River to the I-64 interchange. The project will have three phases. We are currently in Phase I. The key elements of this project are identified below.
Phase I |
The project team is evaluating existing safety and operational conditions and making recommendations for reconstruction and rehabilitation improvements. This will include public involvement organized by Context Sensitive Solutions, which will engage stakeholders and obtain input on this project.

Phase II |
The project team will incorporate information gathered in Phase I and prepare detailed plans needed for construction.

Phase III |
During Phase III, construction will begin and the public will be kept informed of major construction phases and impacts to travel via IDOT’s social media outlets.
