CBM Specifications

Activities involving materials, research, and new products are administered by IDOT's Central Bureau of Materials (CBM). Administration of these activities requires CBM to develop new specifications or revise existing department specifications. Since these activities are under development or are being evaluated, the specifications do not have a wide distribution. In addition, these specifications are a working document and have not been adopted as a statewide standard.

  • Roller Compacted Concrete (CBM)
Application: This specification states the requirements for constructing pavement, shoulder, base course, and base course widening using roller compacted concrete on prepared subgrade. Use of this special provision should be as part of the Bureau’s Experimental Feature Program; please contact Joe Vespa, Engineer of Technical and Product Studies, at Joseph.Vespa@illinois.gov for more information about the program.
    Effective Date: 01/17/14
