Overview and Scope
The IL 84 project involves a study to reconstruct IL 84 through Colona. The existing pavement is approaching the end of its service life and no longer meets the transportation needs of the local community and the region. This project proposed to address these deficiencies by reconstructing IL 84 with a bi-direction left turn lane from 5th Avenue to 7th Street, constructing a sidewalk and a multi-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians, and improving drainage with a storm sewer system. To address traffic backups at Cleveland Road, this intersection will be signalized and the left turn lane will be lengthened.
