Traffic Impacts
Ramp closures for the I-57/I-74 interchange project will have a 7-day notice using Changeable Message Boards on the interstate, a press release and a marked detour. Setting beams for the 2 flyover bridges will result in full interstate closures at night only. Scheduled work dates are subject to change due to inclement weather.
Current detours (as of 3/21/24)
- For motorists traveling south on I-57, wanting to go east on I-74:
Continue through the interchange southbound on I-57, take the Curtis Road exit (Exit 232). Turn left on the Curtis Road Exit and then re-enter I-57 northbound. Continue northbound until back at the interchange and exit right to take I-74 eastbound. - For motorists traveling north on I-57, wanting to go west on I-74:
Continue through the interchange northbound on I-57 to the Market Street exit (Exit 240). Take the exit to the right and turn left at the top of the ramp. Then, re-enter I-57 southbound. Travel back to the interchange and exit to the right for I-74 westbound. - For motorists traveling west on I-74, wanting to go north on I-57:
Continue traveling west on I-74, take the exit for I-57 southbound (Exit 182). Continue southbound on I-57 to the Curtis Road interchange (Exit 232). Turn left on the Curtis Road exit, and then re-enter I-57 northbound.
