Knoxville Avenue Reconstruction Project

Welcome to the Knoxville Avenue Reconstruction website! This site will provide information on the Knoxville Avenue project, which is currently in Phase I, or the Project Study Phase. Below you can access the following: general overview, study schedule, Community Advisory Group, FAQs, project updates, public meetings, contact information, media and photo gallery. Some sections are not populated yet but will be updated as the Phase I Study progresses. The project limits include Knoxville Avenue (Illinois 40) from north of Pennsylvania Avenue to north of U.S. 150 (War Memorial Drive).

Note: IDOT projects typically have three distinct phases. Phase I (or the project Study) consists of developing the project scope, environmental studies and preliminary design of a project. Phase II (Design) consists of refining the design to develop contract plans and land acquisition. Phase III (Construction) consists of the actual construction of the project.
