- The purpose of this telephone town hall meeting is to provide a project update and take questions and comments from attendees to better understand anticipated project impacts so we can work to minimize inconvenience and hardship.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is currently conducting a preliminary engineering and environmental study (Phase I) for the improvement of Illinois 2 in Winnebago and Ogle counties. The study was initiated in Spring 2014.
The study is examining transportation needs and solutions for the corridor through an extensive public involvement process. The study area starts at the intersection of Illinois 2 and 72 in Byron and extends approximately 10.5 miles to Beltline Road south of Rockford.
