The FY 2022 Annual Highway Improvement Program shows the projects IDOT planned to implement during state fiscal year 2022 from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. The FY 2022 Annual Highway Improvement Program totaled $3.605 billion, including $2.354 billion for improvements on the state system and $1.251 billion for improvements on local highways. As circumstances arose throughout the fiscal year, modifications were made to the program. After these modifications were made, the FY 2022 adjusted annual Highway Improvement program totaled $4.291 billion - $3.286 billion of which was awarded during the fiscal year.

A total of 1,178 miles of roads, 883,393 square feet of deck area (170 bridges) and 84 safety and traffic improvements were scheduled to be accomplished in the FY 2022 Annual Highway Improvement Program.

In FY 2022, IDOT accomplished 1,393 miles of roads, 992,263 square feet of deck area (140 bridges) and 196 safety and traffic improvements.
