Evaluation
Evaluation of programs is an important component of accountability and performance. The IDOT Bureau of Safety Programs and Engineering’s Evaluation Unit focuses on evaluation and monitoring of various highway safety projects and programs through research and analyses that enhance the safety and efficiency of transportation by understanding the driving forces that are important to transportation programs in Illinois. The Evaluation Unit uses crash data provided by crash reports submitted to the IDOT Bureau of Data Collection as well as information submitted to IDOT from other state agencies and traffic safety partners and stakeholders to provide the necessary tools to create reports and monitor traffic records.
