Construction
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), along with financial support of the Iowa Department of Transportation, has awarded a contract to remove and replace the structure carrying US 52/IL 64 over the Mississippi River. This project was let on September 19, 2015 and awarded to Kraemer North America for $80.6 million dollars. Construction activities began in January 2016 and will conclude prior to May 31, 2018.

Scope
Proposed Work
Contract 64G59 includes the removal and replacement of the existing structure and roadway improvements along the Iowa causeway and IL 84. To following link will access the contract plans:

Details
Project Updates
Two cameras will be installed to record worksite activities and progress. The images from the video camera website will also be provided for viewing from this link with a minimum refresh rate of 15 seconds.
Maintenance of Traffic
One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times with the use of flaggers and signals.
Schedule
11/7/17 – The proposed structure will be open to traffic mid-November 2017. The existing structure will be removed prior to April 1, 2018. All work shall be completed by May 2018.
The ribbon cutting event will take place on November 17, 2017 at 1 pm in Savanna on the new structure.
